General rules

Welcome to the Immersive Design Lab. We are happy that you are part of the community!

However, we expect that you take care of the equipment and the room facilities. Please check the general rules below:

Booking of the IDL

Please always book the IDL if you are using it. This is simply done by sending a calendar invitation to hitf22@ethz.ch.

Eating and drinking in the IDL

Eating is not allowed in the IDL. You can drink, but only out of bottles (no coffee cups). Please do so carfully to not spoil something on the floor and on the devices.

Cooling

The cooling must always be turned on (blue light must be on). Please Do not open the balcony door for ventilation when the outside temperature is warm (the room is already mechanically ventilated).

Racks

Don't open the doors of the racks and do not plug or unplug cables without authorisation of the IDL Team.

Balcony

You can eat and drink on the balcony. Please remove the trash if you do so afterwards. Please do not move the benches. They might conflict when turning down the sunblinds. The door to the balcony should always be closed when the outside temperature is warm (the room is mechanically ventilated).

Canvas

Please lower and put up the canvas carefully. Check beforehand that there are no obstacles (people/doors), so that the canvas can lowered without any problems.

Projector

The beamer should not run longer than 5 hours. Please don't forget to turn if off if you leave the IDL. Check out more details here (TODO: link to beamer docu)

Speakers and Subwoofers

Please do not touch speakers and subwoofers. As the speakers are white they would soon show traces. Please do not use the subwoofers as tables.

Tables and chairs

Please bring back any tables and chairs that you brought in from the D++ workspace in F11.2.

Duty of care

The users of the laboratory act on their own responsibility and have a duty of care towards the infrastructure of the laboratory. This includes the interior furnishings, the XR equipment and the proper handling of the software provided. Arbitrary damage or disregard of the duty of care will result in the responsible user being held liable.

Thank you! - The IDL Team.
